Tre Wilcox is Moving From the Kitchen at Loft 610 in Plano

|

Brian Twomey, owner of TwomeyConcepts which operates Loft 610, The Common Table, The Village Theatre, and The Marquee Grill is making a few adjustments. He’s moving his star chef, Tre Wilcox and team, to the Marquee Grill in Highland Park Village.  Loft 610 will become Loft 610 Urban Restaurant & Lounge and will feature a more casual vibe (read: huge bar in suburbs). Tre’s last night is Saturday, January 29. The Marquee Grill is scheduled to open on March 14. Full deets and made-up quotes below.

Plano, Texas (January 24, 2011) – After over three years of nightlife and fine dining service in Plano, LOFT 610 will be reconcepted into a more casual, nightlife focused restaurant and bar starting in February. After dinner & late night service this Saturday, January 29, owner Brian Twomey is moving Tre Wilcox and his kitchen staff into the test kitchen to prepare for the March 14 opening of  The Marquee Grill in Highland Park Village.

Executive Chef Tre Wilcox has built a very talented team of chefs and cooks at LOFT 610, most notably his Executive Sous Chef, Jermaine Brown. The kitchen team is sticking together to be able to hit the ground running as they develop the new brunch, lunch and dinner menus for Marquee.

Twomey said, “It is a bitter sweet moment for me, as LOFT 610 was my first restaurant, but all of our collective focus needs to be on the two Highland Park Village projects. The Marquee and The Village Theatre represent tremendous opportunities for us, and we want to do everything possible to make sure they are both knock-out experiences for our customers.” Chef Tre said, “The Loft was great for us, and it was instrumental as a learning lab for what is to come at Marquee”. Tre’s new menu will feature more European influences, and will include a steakhouse style section on the menu that will be grilled on live hickory.

LOFT 610 will be reconcepted by Twomey friend and associate, Scott Siers. Siers is a resident of Frisco, and has been in the restaurant industry for decades. The new name is still in the works, but will re-open in late February after some meaningful renovations, including the addition of a huge bar in the main dining room.

So, this week and weekend represent the last opportunity to enjoy LOFT 610 and Tre Wilcox in Plano. You’ll have to wait until March (and make a bit of a drive South) for the next evolution.
