Raise your hands if you are a member of AIWF? Great, you can go to the romaine head of the class. The non-profit organization was founded by Julia Child, Robert Mondavi, and Richard Graff in 1981 to “advance the understanding, appreciation, and quality of what we eat and drink.” How good is that? The Dallas chapter of the international group is the largest in the world. Each year they toss the wildly popular Caesar Salad Competition. This year the event will take place on August 3 at the Fairmont Hotel. Sure it’s tons of fun and the food and wine, natch, are fab, but this year the Fairmont, bless them, is offering special room rates for party-goers. Food fight on the fourteenth floor, anyone? BYOC. (Call the hotel at 214-720-2020 and mention “AIWF – The XVII Annual Caesar Salad”.)
