This post is for all of you semi “DIY-ers” out there who are jonesing to restyle a room in your home but don’t where to start?

Enter Kristen Petty Dowd of Gypsy Soul Interiors.

Dowd focuses on vintage furniture re-sell and custom interior design with a modern twist (not to mention serious Superwoman cred). An artist who will happily take on any design challenge, she is able to completely redesign rooms without ever even seeing the space in person. Her expertise is creating looks for clients that mix on-trend pieces with personal antiques. (Think contemporary art deco meets vintage glam with an eclectic splash…yeah, it’s a mouth full.) And, as her business is online, she does this all through email consultations, making the entire process incredibly cost effective.

In order to accomplish a complete revamp of a lackluster space, all Kristen needs is a few photos of the room, some measurements, an approximate budget, and a feel for what the customer’s aesthetic sensibility. She blends this together and, “Voila!”- a full design board is presented to you with retail resources so that you can physically style the room yourself (and can at least take half of the credit for it).

Along with their online consultations, Gypsy Soul also has an inventory showroom of antique vintage pieces along with some of Kristen’s original artwork. Available items can be found on their website or in person at Scout Design Studio.
