New Order Will Not Play Dallas On October 12

You may have seen that Rolling Stone is reporting that New Order will play their first North American tour in seven years this fall, and their limited dates include a stop in Dallas on October 12. Very exciting, but, unfortunately, I feel like I  have to play the role of fact checking-purist for a moment and clarify the news. No, New Order will not play in Dallas, nor will they play any other city this fall, because New Order without Peter Hook is not New Order. So if you want to see Bernard Sumner and Stephen Morris, and even the return of Gillian, go for it. I want to see that too. But what you will be seeing is the equivalent of a Beatles show minus McCartney.

In related news, Hooky will release a memoir about Joy Division this October.
