Rangers Trade Ian Kinsler to Detroit Tigers For Prince Fielder. The Rangers needed a left-handed power hitter in the middle of the order and to figure out what to do with their crowded infield. They did both with this trade. More important, Fielder shores up the team’s infield comedy potential.

A Lot of Journalists Are In Town For Some Reason. Probably just here to talk to Mike Mooney. No? That was probably too inside. How about this? And Tim Rogers will figure out a way to irritate or offend at least half of them by Saturday.

Mavs Rally From 18 Down, Beat Rockets. Monta Ellis had 37 points and Dirk Nowitzki almost matched him with 35, and the team was absolutely nails in the fourth quarter. (Update: This is fantastic.) ALSO: Dirk passed Reggie Miller to move into 15th place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. I figured it out the other day, and there is better than decent chance Dirk could finish next season in 7th place, right between Shaquille O’Neal and Moses Malone. Pretty amazing.
