The gravestone next to Lee Harvey’s at Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery has been a mystery since 1997. On a piece of the same dimension is carved: NICK BEEF? Who is (or was) Mr. Beef? Well, as this New York Times story explains, he is still living, and he’s “a writer and ‘nonperforming performance artist’ with a penchant for the morbid.” Read it. Wonderful story.
