What to Do in Dallas Tonight: Aug. 31

|

Happy Tuesday to you, readers. If today is your birthday, you are a Virgo. And if you are a Virgo, this is your horoscope:

It’s a really good time for you to stretch your boundaries and ensure that your people are all making way for you. Your great energy is just right for trying something that is totally new to you [emphasis mine].

What excellent advice! So excellent, in fact, that I recommend even non-Virgos heed it today, by doing the following:

First, please take note of this helpful site. See you in half an hour or so (longer if you’ve ever worked for a large corporation).

Moving on. Tonight you have the chance to do two good deeds. Sfuzzi is hosting a happy hour to raise money and awareness for Alley’s House, a nonprofit group that helps teenage mothers and their kids. One might question the wisdom of using a happy hour for this purpose, but then one would be over-thinking the matter. Show up, donate a mere $10 at the door, and enjoy a cocktail and discounted pizza.

Save some room for your next stop: Stephanie Anne‘s kickoff party for the upcoming Cattle Baron’s Ball, which benefits the American Cancer Society. Guests get to preview the Contessa fall collection and feast on food from Javier’s Gourmet Mexicano–and know that their purchases are going to a great cause. This is an exclusive-ish event, so you’ll need to contact the store if you want to attend (see the event listing for details).
