Back in April, FrontRow Maestro Peter Simek did a review of “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” and it didn’t inspire me to see it. And let’s face it — the photo that ran with the review wasn’t very inviting. But someone, who knew I was a sucker for film noir, urged me to give it a shot despite its very disturbing violence. They claimed that if Alfred Hitchcock, Quentin Tarantino and Agatha Christie got together on a project, this movie would be the result.
So, one rainy Sunday afternoon I checked it out. OMG! Let’s just say Lisbeth ain’t no Carrie Bradshaw and I was immediately hooked by the late Stieg Larsson’s trilogy.
Tomorrow its sequel opens and my overseas friends who have seen it . . . well, I’ll be eager to see what Peter says about “The Girl Who Played With Fire.”
