DISD isn’t the only large employers laying off people today. As noted earlier, Frito-Lay is letting go 130 people from its Plano HQ. Austin Kilgore, the real estate editor for People Newspapers, tells us:
According to a source inside the Plano facility, officials closed the office today. Employees have all been given a 10-minute window where they are supposed to be at their desks, at which point a supervisor will notify them of their fate. Either you find out you’ve got a job and you get the rest of the day off — or you’re jobless.
