WHAT TO DO WITH THOSE KATIES?

|

This is a question that only a few people in the room are interested in discussing. I’m aware of that, and I don’t want to belabor it. But my feeling is that returning something that’s worthless doesn’t make a point. Throwing a bona fide war medal into the river, that’s something. Returning a bogus award? Just sounds to me like you’re looking for a reason to beat your chest.

That said, I think I’ve found the co-working FBvian with the most statuettes to lose. From Josh Pearson, an online developer and programmer here:

I’m also not counting (I have won seven in the past five years for online work), but even I knew something was amiss with last year’s awards. We (and by “we” I mean my boss at the time) submitted some shamefully premature work [for another company] last year in an online category and won on two accounts. I have the five trophies from previous years but declined to take possession of the two from ’06. Now comes word that I might have to take one or two more out of the guarded glass case that’s illuminated by 159,000 watts of lights above my mantle. Please ask Rod to keep me posted so I can know which ones to trash and which ones to continue polishing.

BTW — did Rod mention in his first post today that he will feel better with a cleansed taint? IJS.
