Thumbs down to Monica smith, president of the Dallas Police Association, for her slur against the venerable religion of voodoo. Smith, who had griped about “voodoo pay-raise facts” in the tussle over police salary hikes, was promptly denounced by Sensitivity Czarina Diane ragsoale, whose defense of this “ancient, legitimate African religion” was laudable but didn’t go far enough. We hope Ragsdale will also mount a defense of cannibalism, virgin sacrifice, and other ancient religious practices. After all, no group’s beliefs can possibly be any better or more enlightened than another’s. Some paint chapels, others commune with snakes. What’s the difference?
