T.O. OWNS DMN

|

Yes, I’m 48 hours late getting to this, but it must be addressed. Saturday night, Cowboys fans were treated to a marvelous 17-7 victory over San Francisco, their third pre-season win. Bledsoe and Romo were both magnificent, the offense was potent, and the defense was intimidating. A brilliant team win. So how does the DMN play it Sunday morning? THEY IGNORE IT, and decide instead to run with a huge banner headline, “T.O. pushing it.” In other words, forget the efforts of 55+ players and coaches who performed at the highest levels; let’s focus on the fact that Terrell Owens was late for a team meeting. Both Jerry Jones and Bill Parcells dismissed it as a “non event.” But yet the DMN sees fit to make this non-player more important than those who actually played! So, don’t blame T.O. for the obsessive coverage he’s receiving–blame the drunken sportswriters. No wonder teams get ripped apart by this. How would you feel if you just had an incredible game and yet the local daily newspaper decides the top story is a $9,500 fine for some injured guy? Shame on you, SportsDay.
