THESE GUYS DESERVE AN AWARD

|

Holy cow. Literally. Two burger-lovin’ D readers, and my newest bestest friends, write:

Dear Mrs. Nichols,
From your very well-written article, “The Best Hamburgers in Dallas,” a friend and I set about validating your choice(s) for Dallas’ best hamburgers. We tried most of the 16 finalists. But because we are non-smokers, the smoke in many of your choices prohibited us from eating there (can this be a criterion in the future for you?). We decided that you were almost correct with your choices. Our favorite was, “The Old Monk,” closely followed by “The Angry Dog.” I cannot express how fun the entire process has been. If fact, we would gladly volunteer to be members of future judging panels.

Guys, first of all, I’m not a Mrs. anymore and won’t be until Jim Schutze divorces, but back to your feat–I’m impressed. Timmy, don’t these boys deserve some kind of reader award? Now they want to go back and recreate the Best Pizza (March 2005) competition. Wick, should I fear for my job? Rod, any buyout rumors going around at D?
