What do crying babies and crying cheerleaders have in common? Melissa Rycroft. Mom of two beautiful babes and current judge on season 9 of CMT’s Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making The Team, Melissa spends a lot of her time drying tears. But between the two full-time gigs, she’s in the gym.

A former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader herself and winner of Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars, Rycroft is no stranger to fitness. But the down-to-earth reality TV queen also likes to mix it up with Mexican food and margaritas — no true Texan can say no to queso.

D Magazine: If you’ve got only 20 minutes to work out, what’s your routine?Melissa Rycroft: Right now, it’s cardio. I’m still trying to lose the baby weight, so cardio is key!

What’s your typical daily workout routine?
I like to start with cardio — usually the treadmill, but sometimes I mix it up and hit the bike or elliptical. Then I do a circuit consisting of quads, hamstrings, biceps, triceps, and abs. I like to do a total body every workout, but use light weights with high reps.

What’s your usual breakfast?
I’m a big oatmeal, granola, or smoothie girl. I can’t eat too much in the morning or it makes me feel sick, so I like to keep things light but also keep me full for a few hours!

What is your go-to cheat meal?
I love Mexican food!! If I’m going to cheat, I’m heading to get chips and queso and a big margarita!!

Name a song from your workout playlist.
“Talk Dirty” by Jason Derulo. It’s a favorite right now!
