There’s not always enough time in the day to skim a lengthy, re-worded press release that’s been stamped with “breaking” or “exclusive.” And some stories don’t warrant an entire page of prose. Each week we’ll gather the most important tidbits of Dallas food news and post them here, on SideDish. Because sometimes all you need is the scoop.

Sundown at Granada to host Oktoberfest: The restaurant and bar’s rooftop patio will transform into a mini Oktoberfest during the month of October. The weekend-only celebration features a special menu filled with house-made German brats, German potato salad, beer-braised red cabbage, and sauerkraut. Expect beer specials and live music, too. Oktoberfest takes place every Friday and Saturday through October 28.

TJ’s Seafood offers new poké bowl: The poké fad is starting to take off in Dallas with the addition of restaurants like Below 40, and Fast Furious Japanese Grill that specialize in the raw fish salad. TJ’s Seafood is hopping on the trend bandwagon and offering a lunch-only poké bowl. According to the release: “This summer, Jon Alexis and Chef Nick Harrison traveled to L.A. literally eating poké at 12 different poké shops, from Pasadena to Santa Monica. We came straight home and started developing recipes.” Bowls offered include ahi tuna with sesame oil, avocado, and nori; citrus ponzu salmon with yuzu, chili orange, and fried garlic; and Sriracha shrimp with creamy lava sauce, avocado, and radicchio. The dish is available Monday through Friday during lunch hours.

Snuffer’s offers ghost pepper cheeseburger for month of October: The popular burger joint is shaking things up this month with a limited-edition ghost pepper cheeseburger: a ground chuck patty topped with ghost pepper cheese, grilled jalapeños, grilled diced red onions, and yellow mustard. Can you take the heat?
