Sniff, Swirl, Sip, Tweet. Four Seasons Tweet-Up Presents a New Kind of Wine Tasting

|

A good wine has always been something to crow about; tomorrow night it will become something to tweet about, too. On Tues. Nov. 17, from 6 to 7 pm (CT) the Four Seasons Resort’s Bar 19 in Las Colinas will host a “tweet-up” — a Twitter-based, virtual, global tasting hosted by Four Seasons’ three top sommeliers in an event that mingles technology and oenophilia.

James Tidwell, co-founder and current head of the Texas Sommelier Association, Mark Sayre, one of Wine & Spirits magazine’s Seven Best New Sommeliers of 2010, and Dana Farner, recognized as “one of the best around” by Bon Appétit, will use the Twitter platform to lead participants in a virtual guided tasting of Loosen Bros. Dr. L Riesling, Paraiso Syrah, and Chappellet Mountain Cuvee. The accompanying Twitter discussion will focus on understanding the flavor profile of each wine and pairing the wines with seasonal dishes. The evening will end with a Q & A session.

Attendance at the Four Seasons Tweet-Up will run you $25 and includes a tasting pour of the three featured wines along with three paired appetizers by Chef Katie Natale: squash-apple soup with chipotle crema, Mediterranean pasta salad, smoked pork loin with blackberry-cinnamon compote.) Enjoy the food, camaraderie, big screen Twitter view and views inside Bar 19. Space is limited to 40. Call 972-717-2441 to reserve your spot.

Can’t come to the Tweet-up? Join the discussion from home by logging on to Twitter at 6 pm CT on November 17. Search for the hashtag #FSWine. Ensure your comments and questions are woven into the conversation by including the #FSWine hashtag with each tweet.
