RA Sushi Bar Restaurant in Plano will host its first “Roll’N With RA” charity sushi contest on August 6, Aug. 6, 2009 from 5:30 – 7 p.m.,
featuring a special happy hour.  Media judges will sample each sushi roll and score them based on Creativity, Taste and Presentation, and the winner will be announced that evening.  The chosen roll will be placed on the RA menu from Friday, August 14 to Friday, September 4 with a portion of the proceeds going to the winning organization. 469-467-7400.

FUQUA Winery is offering private wine tastings for groups with a minimum of 10 people and a maximum of 16.  You will enjoy nine quality wines including the FUQUA Tempranillo, which just won a double gold medal at the San Francisco International Wine Competition. All you need to do is select a date and call Lee at 214.769.1147 to book it.  We will then create an invitation containing your name, date and time, along with a map to the winery.  You will then be able to send this invitation via email or snail mail to your guests.The price is only $20 per person. Chef Chris Ward is hosting a fundraiser for the Greyhound Adoption League (GALT) on Sunday, August 30th, from 2 to 5pm at The Mercury.  Tickets are $40 and include food, a drink, a recipe book and a bag full of savory dog treats.  VIP tickets are available for $75 and include premium seating and a gift from the chef. Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille, a Texas-based, family-owned group of fine-dining restaurants will open their first Dallas-area location (2000 McKinney in Uptown) in Spring 2010. The restaurant will seat 350 guests and offer five private dining rooms including loft dining, outdoor seating, a wine wall featuring more than 5,000 bottles and personal wine lockers. Murmur.
