Our marketing director sent me this photo after witnessing an unfortunate lady and her Suburban pull out in front of an oncoming trolley on St. Paul. A one-way street for cars does not necessarily mean a one-way street for trolleys, so look both ways. Lesson learned! Or at least, it’s a good reminder.
This reminds me that our online dining editor, Catherine Downes, had her car hit by a trolley not too long ago, which, as far as accidents go, is a pretty ridiculous thing to have to tell your insurance agent. The McKinney Avenue Transit Authority does not include “What to do if you are hit by a trolley” in their FAQs section, which seems like a bit of an oversight.
