When I Went: May, 2013

Was That the Best Time of Year to Go? We do not have young children, so we usually try to avoid family resorts.  There were lots of vacationing families from the area due to being “low” season.

Why I Went There: We love visiting Mexico and do so once or twice a year.  We chose this location because we enjoy snorkeling and had heard the reef in the area was a good one.

Who Went With Me? My “fiance.” We got engaged on the trip!

We Stayed Here: Hotel Marina El Cid Spa & Beach Resort

You Won’t Want to Miss: Catamaran/snorkeling cruise. It can be booked at the marina, which is attached to the hotel.

Eat Here: We were there a short time and only ate at the hotel restaurants.  All were very good.

Play Here: It’s just a 45-minute drive to Mayan Ruins.

If I Went Again: Stay longer
