With Summer officially upon us, Windsong Ranch’s incredible amenity THE LAGOON gives residents the ability to enjoy the season’s good vibes all year long. With white-sand beaches and crystal-clear water, the five-acre lagoon looks more like the Caribbean than North Texas, and the island vibes extend to the activities residents of Windsong Ranch can partake in there. Standup paddleboard yoga classes, kayak rentals, and beach volleyball are some of the activities they offer at THE LAGOON, but many residents enjoy just relaxing on one of the three beaches while enjoying the stunning views. Craig Martin, president and partner of Tellus Group, LLC, which developed Windsong Ranch, says, “I think the most popular activity at THE LAGOON is being with family, relaxing on the beach lounge chairs, building sandcastles in the sand, and taking in the whole experience.”

Martin became inspired to build THE LAGOON after seeing a similar water feature at a property in Cabo San Lucas. He told his partners at Tellus Group, “If we can afford to build this, we have to build it.” THE LAGOON at Windsong Ranch holds ten million gallons of freshwater and stretches a quarter of a mile long. A half-mile walking trail surrounds the water, allowing residents and their guests the opportunity to see the stunning crystal-clear water from all angles.

Windsong Ranch, which opened in 2014, was already the most award-winning community in North Dallas before THE LAGOON’s grand opening celebration in June 2019. Located in the city of Prosper, just north of Frisco, the community features homes by some of the area’s most popular builders: American Legend Homes, Belclaire Homes, Drees Custom Homes, Grenadier Homes, Highland Homes, Shaddock Homes, Shaddock-Caldwell Custom Homes, Southgate Homes, and Tradition Homes.

Martin explains, “Even before THE LAGOON, we were head and shoulders above other master-planned communities, but when we built THE LAGOON, it just pushed Windsong’s lifestyle that much farther ahead of the rest. I have people coming from all over—Dallas, Plano, Frisco, all fifty states—and they’ve made their choice to live in Windsong even before they’ve started looking for a house.” THE LAGOON has only made Windsong Ranch more desirable, according to Martin. He adds, “We’re selling at an electric pace, and the sales have increased dramatically since THE LAGOON opened.”

With 1,500 new homesites coming online, one of the newest neighborhoods within Windsong Ranch is The Summit, which is set on an elevated area overlooking THE LAGOON. A trail system connects The Summit to the new amenity, giving residents of the neighborhood easy access to the water. The Summit also features the second Prosper ISD elementary school to be located within Windsong Ranch and an adjacent seven-acre community park.

With diverse home styles in a range of prices, Windsong Ranch offers something for everyone. THE LAGOON is just another incredible amenity that solidifies the community’s overall appeal. Martin encourages potential buyers to come to view THE LAGOON in person. “Once you see it,” he says, “you realize what an authentic day-at-the-beach experience it offers.”
