This month’s contibuting editors, stylists, and photographers.

Stylists CHAD CURRY (front, grabbing model Lauren Rees) and GREG MATHEWS
(back, next to hair and makeup guru Angela Angel and photographer
Nicole Nelson) had some serious fun during our citywide photo shoot for
this month’s cover story, “Dallas Shops,” on p. 99. The proof? This
candid shot of the “D Team”—as they dubbed themselves—hanging on for
dear life during a wild turn on the carousel at Frisco’s Stronebriar
Centre. Along with design director Todd Johnson and photography
assistant Jensen Walker, the motley (yet impeccably dressed) crew
traveled from the urban charm of Jefferson Boulevard in Oak Cliff to
the posh Neiman Marcus downtown to capture this month’s images. But
everyone agreed the Frisco shoot was the most out of hand. Must have
been the nearby Starbucks.

DANNY PIASSICK is a regular contributor to our sister publication D Home.
He has a degree in fine art photography from the University of Arizona,
and he enjoys his work because it takes him to great places and enables
him to meet interesting people. This month Danny went behind the scenes
at Dallas’ hottest new nightclub (see p. 114). Though he was born and
raised in Dallas, he doesn’t think he fits into the Dallas mold. At
night, he can usually be found out at a gallery opening or catching
some live music. He also plays the drums in his own band, though they
have yet to play their first show.

JESSICA SHAPARD, D Magazine’s new copy editor, is an Oklahoma native and SMU alum. Before joining D,
she lived in Chicago, where she attended Northwestern University and
received her master’s degree in journalism and magazine publishing.
While enjoying life in the Windy City, Jessica served as managing
editor for the launch of a new shelter magazine, Renew, and worked at Chicago magazine. She’s written for Nation’s Restaurant News and the Dallas Morning News, and although she aspires to be a food writer, Jessica admits her favorite food is still SpaghettiOs.
