THUMBS UP South Dallas School: DISD’s Best

|

THUMBS UP to the third-grade students of Elisha Pease Elementary in Smith Dallas, their teachers, and their principal, Henry Creech, Pease, which has a student population that is almost 100 percent African-American, was the only DISD elementary school to garner the coveted tide of “Exemplary” from the Texas Education Agency this year. The honor is based on TAAS tests results and other factors, such as attendance. This should bury the myth that black kids can’t learn-and spur parents in North and East Dallas to demand the same level of excellence.
