THUMBS UP to city councilman JIM BUERGER and public safety committee for their suggestion that dallas police crack down on illegal weapons possession. Dallas is likely to set an all-time record for homicides this year, and only the naive would argue that loaded weapons being carried in the streets are not one reason for the increase. Polls show that large majorities of Texans favor gun control measures. It’s time that elected officials heard the voice of the people.
