FALL FASHION modern girls

In a timely reflection of the way we live now, designers here at home and abroad have delineated change. Fall ’87 is a season of fashionable new directions: the attitude is modern, the approach minimalist, and the watchwords are short, smart, and streamlined. Clothes this season look different. And the way they’re designed to be put together and lived in is different. No more layers, no more bag ladies, no tricky tailoring. And the list of pertinent accessories is brief and to the point. Whether designers have read our minds, or simply fallen out of lust with froufrou and fuss, it’s clear that what’s in store this fall is a flattering exterior for intelligent women who’ve been thinking on fast-forward, and waiting to look like it.
