THUMB AWARD Perot to the Rescue-Again?

|

Thumbs up to Dallas businessman Ross Perot for again lending his considerable prestige to the fight to preserve the 1985 school reforms and prevent Texas from becoming, in his words, “a national joke.” Perot joins Lt. Gov, Bill Hobby and House Speaker Gib Lewis in realizing that the future of Texas depends on an educated work force, even if that requires a tax increase. Perot hinted that he might also contribute to the campaigns of legislators who are willing to support public education and ignore Gov. Bill Clements’s anti-tax demagoguery.
