They May Be Building Your Next Home

Peter Shaddock and Jerry Cook Build More Large Custom Homes in North Dallas Than Any Other Firm
|

Over $4,000,000 in luxury homes since January is the enviable construction and sales record of these dynamic young businessmen. If you buy a distinctive, high-quality custom home in North Dallas any time soon, the chances are good it will be a Shaddock-Cook Home.

Most builders find their way into the home building field through architecture or by starting in the building trades. Though Jerry and Peter are young to have achieved the level of success that they enjoy in their chosen profession, it’s not surprising when you learn that home building was a career objective by both during college days. They majored in residential construction management at Texas Christian University and have worked exclusively in the field since graduation.

Peter entered the home building business, working for a Dallas builder for a short while, but quickly took the big step and started his own firm. The first year was rough, but by then he was on his way, utilizing his college major in construction management as practical, everyday impetus. His brother-in-law, Jerry, joined the firm and became a partner a short time later, merging his talents with Peter’s.

A philosophy of functional design and quality construction in every home has contributed heavily to the success of the partnership. Because of the personal attention given to each new home by Peter and Jerry, most speculative Shaddock-Cook homes are sold soon after completion. Besides homes built for sale, many contract homes are constructed, as well.

In checking with owners living in Shaddock-Cook homes and with some of their peer builders, we found that both Peter and Jerry are highly respected for the way they do business and build their homes. Indeed, Jerry has recently been elected an officer in the Custom Builders division of the local chapter of the National Home Builders Association.

The firm of Shaddock-Cook keeps itself lean and involved. Not wanting to turn over responsibility for their homes to less-motivated employees, the two partners continue to handle all of their own administration and supervision. All work is personally approved by one before it is turned to their workmen. And woe to the craftsman who skips detail or cuts a corner in specifications.

Since Peter established the firm 10 years ago, over three hundred fine custom-designed homes have been built under the firm name in North Dallas, Richardson and Piano. Shaddock-Cook homes under construction or lots tor sale are to be found in nearly every prestige subdivision in those cities. And, most have “sold” signs showing. In recent years they have concentrated in the luxury home range of $90,000 to over $300,000.

Dallas and the home building industry can be proud of productive men like Peter Shaddock and Jerry Cook who are helping to build a better and more beautiful city.
