Visions of the City

The first in a series of original works by Dallas artists

“At the heart of any city is a human mystery. I have tried to suggest something of my sense of this mystery through a particular grouping of images in front of an older Dallas street. No specific meanings are intended. The title, Black Snake Blues, was the name of one of Blind Lemon Jefferson’s famous songs. The musician in the painting is based on a photograph of Blind Boy Fuller.”
