Jim and Barbara Stewart want to share their relaxed, lakeside lifestyle with the world. They are pouring millions of dollars into a unique vacation home community on Cedar Creek Lake in Kemp, Texas, called Beacon Hill. Think Deer Valley meets Stiltsville, just 45 minutes from downtown Dallas. Their mission: make Beacon Hill an integration of luxury living that preserves and protects the environmental importance of Cedar Creek Lake. Construction has started on the jetty-protected marina, floating boat slips, decked-out party rooms, deck space, boat launch, and a sandy beach. The party rooms will be veritable sports bars, with multiple flat-screen televisions, bars, and private owner storage. Construction is using ocean-grade specs. “I’ve never seen anything like this at Texoma, or anywhere really,” says Roger van Duyne, Beacon Hill’s project manager.
