In fact, a visit to one of the following quiet spaces might be just the respite you’ve been looking for. Norwood Flynn Gallery (3318 Shorecrest Dr. 214-351-3318) brings us its 2009 Christmas Holiday Group Show featuring three new artists to the gallery. Enjoy stone-cut lithographs by Andrew DeCaen, surrealist still lifes by Sunny Jacquet, and framed poems by Brent Kollock. (Nov 14-Jan 9, 2010. Wed-Sat, 12-5:30 p.m.) The folks at Kittrell/Riffkind Art Glass (5100 Belt Line Rd., Ste. 820. 972-239-7957) will get you in the holiday spirit with their Ornament Extravaganza, which they call “a celebration of shape, color, and the holiday season.” Bonus: cookies and eggnog, everyone’s favorite holiday treat, will be on the menu at the November 21 opening reception. (Nov 21-Dec 31. Mon-Sat, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.) Kim Cadmus Owens is the star of the show at the Reading Between the Lines exhibition at Holly Johnson Gallery (1411 Dragon St. 214-369-0169).
