Details: Owned by David Hamilton, the Dallas-based company was started in 1964 by the late Jack Boles. It has about 300 employees, many are whom are family members of Boles’ original valet team.
Why you need to know him: Because people “in the know” do.
If you’ve been to a social event of any consequence in the last decade or so, you probably recognize Gary Ferraro’s face. And if you want to be treated like a member of the A-list at the Cattle Baron’s Ball next month, you’d better hope Ferraro recognizes you.
With a razor-sharp memory and almost 40 years in the valet business—his first parking gig with Boles came at age 15; his father also worked there—Ferraro eschews valet tickets, having memorized instead which makes and models belong to hundreds of the local elite.
“Jack always remembered people,” Ferraro says. “That’s what he passed on” to me.
If you’re looking to ditch the hoi polloi and make Ferraro’s short list during this social season, remember to be friendly.
And, it doesn’t hurt to tip $20 upfront.
