A tie is a tie is a tie, right? Wrong. Let your neckwear speak for itself—and make a statement—with the latest looks. Doug Duckworth, vice president of merchandising at Pockets Menswear of Highland Park Village, suggests bold colors, charming stripes, and handsome patterns. “C-level executives are breaking away from the simple, primary red tie,” he says. Don’t shy away from stripes on stripes on stripes. Take a navy, chalk-striped suit with a light-blue, striped shirt, and finish it with a multistriped, lime-green tie. If you’re sour on lime, try orange, teal, or candy-apple red for a polished self-presentation. “Having the luxury of choice with mixing and blending patterns is what is great about this look,” Duckworth says. “As long as it’s tastefully done.”

All ties are Ermenegildo Zegna. Prices from $135 to $155.
