Dallas Officers Honored at Banquet. At the annual Friends of the Dallas Police banquet at the Hyatt Regency Dallas yesterday, the officers who sprang into action during the July downtown shooting were honored, as well as their families. The fallen officers received the Police Cross for making the ultimate sacrifice.
John Wiley Price Asks Judge to Throw Out Case. The Dallas County commissioner’s lawyer requested that a federal judge dismiss the charges in the corruption case against him concerning $950,000 in bribes. His lawyer claims there was no criminal intent and the government’s searches were illegal. Kathy Nealy and Dapheny Fain, two of Price’s co-defendants, also requested that the charges be dropped. The trial is currently set for February 21.
Colin Powell Supports Dallas Pre-K Initiative. Last night at the Meyerson Symphony Center, Powell said he was in Dallas as part of the Early Matters summit to boost support for good early childhood education, especially pre-kindergarten. “Make these kids feel valuable. Because these are the kids who will be our employees in the future, our workers in the future, our geniuses in the future,” Powell said.
Mark Cuban’s Got Election Jokes. He’s been outspoken about the fact that he’d planned to vote for Hillary Clinton. And now, he’s done that. “I voted 17 times just for Donald Trump fans,” Cuban said.
