Like many Highland Park homes, there’s a gravitas to 4341 Edmondson Ave. It has a grand feel, listing agent Jamie Ashby says, created by its tall ceilings, stunning millwork, and manicured yard. But it’s not too stuffy. “It lives very well,” she says.

The 4,843-square-foot house was custom-built in 2002. Ashby can tell it’s been cared for over the years. The current owners bought the property two years ago and got to work putting their own spin on it. They brought in designer Chad Dorsey1 to update and refresh the home’s interiors. They re-stained the wood floors and installed new lighting throughout the home. They painted cabinets and changed out hardware in the kitchen and bathrooms. The kitchen got a face lift, thanks to the new paint and new quartzite countertops and backsplash. The family also updated some more mechanical, big-ticket items, Ashby says, like the HVAC, sound system, and the pool heater.

The house has a semi-open floor plan. The kitchen is open to the breakfast room, which in turn opens into the informal living room. “I think overall just the flow is really nice,” Ashby says. Shoot2Sell

The home has a well-maintained backyard, Ashby says. There’s a heated pool, spa, and recently updated fire pit. The lawn areas have artificial turf, so “it’s really low maintenance, easy to take care of.” Shoot2Sell

The owners have been meticulous in their maintenance of the home, Ashby says. The home even has a generator—which can come in handy in the winters. “It’s just a really high-quality, well-maintained house, that they have put a lot of work into,” she says.

But the house has more to offer than what’s within its lot lines. The location is “such a great spot,” with lots of walkability. The owners enjoy walking their kids to school at Bradfield Elementary or to one of the nearby parks. Highland Park Village is just a five-minute walk away, too.

Overall, the location and the house itself have “a really good feel to it,” Ashby says. Scroll through the gallery to learn more about the home.
