Moms are awesome. Here’s just one reason why. As much as we want to shower them with flowers, pancakes and homemade sentiments, deep down we all know that what moms really want is just to spend more time with us. (Plus, her pancakes are probably better than ours.) So this Mother’s Day, in lieu of (or in addition to!) the flowers, pancakes, and homemade sentiments, gift her with something you can both enjoy together. Here, we’ve collected a few local classes that may or may not teach you a lifetime skill, but will certainly leave you with a lifelong memory.
Sur La Table | Mother’s Day Macarons {5/9}
It’s probably too late to book that mother/daughter trip to Paris (darn it), but you can still give mom a little of that French joie de vivre this year with Sur La Table’s Mother’s Day Macaron Class.
Uptown Yoga | Hate to Love: Changing Your Hip Perspective {5/10}
We’ve been fans of Uptown Yoga’s light and airy studio for years, so we’re psyched to check out their new master class series. Lucky for us (and for mom!), there’s an opportunity to test one out this Mother’s Day. Click here to learn more about the two-hour, stretch-focused class, and then treat your mom to a sun salutation or two.
Scardello | Cheese 101 {5/14}
Let cheesemonger Rich Rogers and his team at Scardello teach you about something you and mom are both interested in: food. Nibble your way through the ABCs of cheese in this monthly class while helpful servers pour the wine (and keep it coming). Just wait, when the cheese tray comes around at the next family gathering, you and mom will have loads of useful tidbits to dish out.
Fullosophie | Watercolor Illustrations + Brush Lettering {5/21}
From flower arranging to boozy calligraphy brunches, there’s always something fun and creative happening at Fullosophie. Take mom to their upcoming watercolor class to catch up, enjoy bites and beverages, and learn how to make killer birthday, Christmas, and Mother’s Day cards for years to come.
Beads of Splendor | (Get) Hammered {5/31}
This Beads of Splendor class combines two of our favorite things: wine and jewelry. These two subjects are probably favored by more than just our little group, so invite mom to master the art of hammering. You’ll get your own little works of art, plus a pretty solid buzz.
