On Nov. 17, industry luminaries gathered to celebrate D CEO ’s eighth annual Excellence in Healthcare Awards, honoring exceptional executives, practitioners, and other innovative leaders. The event, held at On The Levee in Dallas’ Design District, brought together the region’s top healthcare professionals to recognize those whose work over the past year has distinguished them from their peers.
This year, 59 organizations and individuals were honored, with winners announced in 15 categories. Award winners addressed social determinants of health, advocated for more equitable access to healthcare, provided virtual and telehealth services, increased access to mental health services, and much more, all while continuing their fight on the frontlines of the pandemic.
The final award of the evening, D CEO’s Lifetime Achievement in Healthcare Award, was presented to Dr. William C. Roberts, executive director of the Baylor Heart and Vascular Institute at Baylor University Medical Center.
Guests were greeted with opening remarks from Christine Allison, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of D Magazine Partners, who congratulated the honorees on their bravery, collaboration, and determination to save lives. D CEO Editor Christine Perez and Managing Editor Will Maddox presented the awards, with help from Karen Pinkstaff of RSM.
