Physicians looking for a job in 2013 will have more options than they did in 2012, although last year was still a good one in terms of employment offers.
More incentives are likely en route for doctors due to approaching physician retirements, less hours worked, and increase in demand, according to American Medical News, which also said this means not only an increase in job numbers but also job variety.
Although this is an increase in job availability for doctors, it also means hospitals and other groups that hire physicians will have a harder time filling physician spots. According to the same Modern Healthcare article, in 2012, about half of employment searches were filled, but in 2011, it was about 60 percent.
