ERCOT Issues Weather Watch for Next Week. A perusal of social media will tell you that meteorologists agree it’s going to be cold next week, but anything after that is a bit of a mystery still. But the models are concerning enough that ERCOT issued a weather watch from Monday to Wednesday “due to extreme cold weather” and “lower reserves.” The grid operator did not call for conservation.

We’re No. 2 (and 10). The Transportation Security Administration said Wednesday that our two North Texas airports intercepted enough firearms to make it to the agency’s top 10 list. Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport came in No. 2 (beaten only by Atlanta) with 378 weapons spotted. Love Field came in at No. 10 with 125 found. The TSA said nationally officers found 6,737 firearms at airport checkpoints last year, and 93 percent were loaded.

Prepare for Toilet Paper From Heaven. Walmart announced this week that it will expand its drone delivery service to more than 30 towns and cities in North Texas—roughly 75 percent of the population. The service is already available in about 12 stores in Dallas, Plano, Frisco, and Rowlett, and the retailer says it expects to complete its rollout by the end of the year.
