Dallas Police Arrest Bar Owner in Shooting. The owner of Player’s Bar in Oak Cliff has been arrested in the December shooting death of Xavier Ramon Hernandez-Hawkins. Dallas police said that Berndino Delgado Jr. has been charged with murder just weeks after it was announced that a Dallas couple with a similar vehicle had been wrongfully arrested.

Arlington ISD Superintendent Says Never Mind. Arlington ISD superintendent Marcelo Cavazos announced Thursday that he would leave his job later this year. Last month, he signed a contract extension through 2027. One of the highest-paid superintendents among Texas’ larger school districts, he’ll make more than $408,000 if he stays on the job through August. 

Two Arrested for Allegedly Stabbing a Lyft Driver. Two people who allegedly attacked a Lyft driver in Frisco have been arrested, jail records show. Francis Watson reportedly picked up Brannon Iverson Scott and Tahlea Atavia McRoberts on January 13, and the two allegedly stabbed him several times while attempting to steal his car. Each faces charges of aggravated assault, robbery, and evading arrest. 

Woman Found Dead in Bullet-Riddled SUV. Dallas police said a woman was found shot to death at Samuell Grand Park just after midnight Thursday. A Dallas officer was walking his K-9 partner when he found an SUV riddled with bullets at a parking lot near the park’s aquatic center, with the woman dead inside. Police say they do not yet have a suspect.

McKinney Neighborhood Has a Hog Wild Problem. A few wild boars are generally making pests of themselves with some unrelenting assaults on flower beds in a McKinney neighborhood. The city of McKinney would like to remind everyone that while they don’t have the resources to trap feral hogs, they’re working with the state game warden to come up with a plan. It’s illegal to discharge a firearm in city limits unless the property is larger than 10 acres. I worked very hard not to include a Razorback joke this early in the morning, but I had five workshopped. You’re welcome.
