Council Shakeup. All three incumbents — Erik Wilson, Tiffinni Young, and Monica Alonzo — lost in their runoff elections. Tennell Atkins (who returns, after leaving because of term limits), Kevin Felder, and Omar Narvaez will take their seats at the horseshoe. In other election news …

Dustin Marshall Dominates, Keeps Seat on DISD Board. In his fourth election in 14 months, Marshall bested Lori Kirkpatrick by more than 3,000 votes, after making the runoff by a scant 14.

Rangers Sweep Nationals. Rookie pitcher Austin Biebens-Dirkx led the team as they finished off the squad with the best record in the National League.

Short-Handed FC Dallas Takes a Loss. Without Kellyn Acosta and Matt Hedges, who were on international duty (Acosta got his first start for the USMNT in their 1-1 draw against Mexico), FCD fell to Portland, 2-0. Bright spot: Mauro Diaz made his first road trip, as he recovers from a torn Achilles.
