Mark Zuckerberg Helps Build a Garden in Oak Cliff. The Facebook founder is trying to visit the 30 states this year that he hasn’t yet been to. He started in Dallas, where he worked alongside some students to build a community garden. Then he met with some Dallas cops. I guess I’m a little surprised the guy had never been to Texas.

Theater Director Recovering From Attack. Derek Whitener is the artistic and education director of The Firehouse Theatre in Farmers Branch. Over the weekend, he was attacked by two men in the parking lot of the Target on Haskell Avenue. The men hit him with a pipe, fracturing his skull. Whitener underwent surgery at Baylor and is expected to leave the hospital later this week.

At Least Four Tornadoes Hit North Texas. The National Weather Service has confirmed that Sunday night’s storms caused at least four tornadoes
