Welcome to Texas, Founders.
Welcome to Texas, Founders.

If you didn’t get a chance to participate in Man of Steel‘s $128 million weekend, the Texas Theatre has the film on 35 mm.

And there are two showtimes, so it’s extra convenient. My favorite, Mesa, is closed on Mondays, but Chicken Scratch or Gloria’s would do the trick for dinner and drinks.

Speaking of dinner, Lark on the Park hosts their first beer dinner this evening. My friends all tried Lark on a weekend I was out of town, so I’ve yet to experience the restaurant across from Klyde Warren Park for myself. But the reports were extremely favorable. Dave Engbers, co-owner of Founders Brewing Company in Michigan, pairs Founders’ craft beers, including the Kentucky Breakfast Stout—a beer brewed with coffee and chocolate then aged for a year in oak bourbon barrels—with dishes from Lark. There are about 30 seats left, so call 214-855-5275 for reservations. Tickets are $75 each.
