Rod Dreher’s Book ‘The Little Way of Ruthie Leming’ on Sale Now

urlRod is the former News editorial writer who now is the star columnist and blogger at The American Conservative in Washington. Rod does his writing from his original hometown of St. Francisville, Louisiana, and why he returned to his hometown after years of living in — and thoroughly enjoying — the urban hotspots of America is the ostensible subject of his book. But the book is about far, far more than that. It is about his sister, who died of cancer, but is about more than that. It is about a life lived in grace.

Believe me. This is one of the most powerful, emotionally riveting, and spiritual books you will ever have the good fortune to read. To give you an idea of what I think about this book, I bought 60 copies to give away here at D World Headquarters.

Rod will be in Dallas April 16th for a book-signing at the Barnes & Noble across from NorthPark at 7 pm. You’ll want a signed copy. Heck, I want a signed copy. So I’ll see you there.

I am so glad to hear about this book. I’ve followed Rod since he came to Dallas and I followed Ruthie’s story on his blog. Rod is a magical writer and his journey with Ruthie is not to be missed. And how powerful was it that he moved back home after she died. A lesson for all. Thank you for posting this.

I read an article written by Mr. Dreher about this same subject in a magazine. The article had me in tears and wishing I grew up in a small town to back home to. This book will be a great read, I am sure of that.

I had to put this book down to pick up “Fahrenheit 451” for the Big Read, but I’m eager to return to it. Rod can type. Highly recommended.

Rod’s writing about Ruthie online was some of the most moving things I’ve ever read. I ordered the book on Amazon and look forward to getting mine signed.

The last time I was in that Barnes & Noble, I noticed banners promoting Dreher’s appearance on April 16 and the appearance one week later of Kat Von D, who will be signing copies of “Go Big or Go Home: Taking Risks in Life, Love, and Tattooing.” I wonder how many people have penciled both events into their calendars.

Another book you might want to buy is from Nina Shea. It is called Persecuted. It details the continuing persecution of Christians that many in the media ignore.

Usually disagreed with Rod but always read him anyway because he’s a superb writer. And I’ll be reading this..
