Piers Morgan Takes on the NRA 500

|

Piers Morgan, on his show last night: “How can you ban tobacco companies on the health grounds, but allow the NRA?” The NRA, he contends, is an end-around to the networks’ ban on gun advertising. It’s more complicated than that, obviously, but it brings up a good point: has a sporting event ever been sponsored by such a controversial group? GoDaddy.com? Northrop Grumman? There’s the “Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl,” but no one’s going to argue with that.

Texas Motor Speedway and the National Rifle Association saw a business opportunity, and they struck. They’ll likely have to deal with a small amount of blowback, but all press is good press, right?
