Ward Lay, R.I.P.

|

Ward Lay, scion of one of the great Dallas families, died earlier this morning. Ward was a true gentleman, in the old-fashioned sense of the word. He loved the sporting life. He restored one of the great hunting/flyfishing ranches of Patagonia, Estancia Alicura, which I have had the pleasure of visiting three times, and cultivated some truly great wines in the Argentinian province of Mendoza. Here’s an Alan Peppard item from last year that gives a sense of his generosity. D CEO also featured his office last year.

Our condolences to the family and to his many, many friends.
