Holly LaFon doesn’t like how the good senator is wedging Texas gubernatorial politics into the bill. I can guess that 99 other senators are doing little wedging of their own, just as 435 representatives tried to do in the House. That’s no excuse, but it is how Madison devised the system, as a “constant battle among interests.”  And that’s what makes the system so difficult to navigate in times of emergency, especially when big bucks are in play.
