  1. Marcus says:

I’m currently in Houston, all of the SWA flights today to Dallas are booked, thankfully I’m on the 8:30.

If Marty Courtland can come pick me up in his G6 and help me avoid Hobby, I’d appreciate it. Otherwise, I’ll be drowning beers at Pappa’s Burger with the rest of the Evacuees.

  2. Texas Coast = Tina Turner says:

    Stormpulse is great too….

  3. Bethany says:

I had a data boy once. But then I dumped him.

  4. I can send you on the scene reports from down here in Pensacola. We got 16-foot waves and 30 mph winds so far.

  5. amandacobra says:

I just hope he doesn’t hit Tina*

*I’ve said this “joke” no less than 10 times to my friends when they have bellyached about Ike ruining their weekend. They groaned and changed the subject.

  6. Tim Rogers says:

Here’s a photo from Trey in Pensacola.

  7. Cari says:

The Situation Page is both very good and very bad – I’m not sure I’ll get much done today.

  8. Tom says:

I’ve been calling it Hurricane Eisenhower. Ike likes to storm the beaches.

  9. Brandon says:

Am I seeing correctly that Stormpulse projects Ike will still be an H2 Hurricane when it reaches Dallas?!?

  10. amandacobra says:

I am using this as an excuse to go candle shopping tonight.

  11. Don in Austin says:

Once Ike makes landfall, try this:

(place cursor on desired section and click to get regional map; then use nifty options column on left and get rainfall totals, etc.

  13. Dallasite says:

    Hmmmmm, hurricane porn…

  14. Dallasite says:

Ike it looks like it’s going to blow its load on Tyler now instead of Dallas.

  15. amandacobra says:

Now CNN.com is reporting that it’s going to come on shore as a Cat 4? When did that change? I thought this whole time it was projected to probably not strengthen past Cat 2?

  16. Sway says:

The only load Ike’s blowing on Dallas is all the people headed this way that are being forced to evacuate!

  17. Puddin'Tane says:

    Where’s the hurricane party?

  18. Josh Pearson says:

Thanks for the links, Tim. Now I’m TOTALLY useless. Call me on Monday…
