“Bring Me The Head of Chris Matthews”: A Dallas Democrat in Denver

Chris Matthews, head attached. Not to rain on Eric’s parade, but here’s an on-the-street interview with Dallas gal Janelle Ellis at the convention in Denver. Ellis is known for working on the women’s peace movement, her love of Hillary Clinton and Ann Richards, and now for her cry to “bring me the head of Chris Matthews … that hissing viper.” (It all starts unraveling around the 4:12 mark.) Oh, and she’s making a documentary.

  1. uh oh says:

Awwww Janelle, I love that witch Candy Crowley and the sneering snotty Andrea Mitchell……..

Funny, Janelle didn’t say a word about Roe v. Wade, or judicial appointments, or a right-wing judiciary that will long outlive her delivering us back to the “good old days” (the days, I suppose, when women couldn’t vote or go to law school, and Black men couldn’t use the white bathroom or the white college, and . . . .) Yeah, keep it up, Janelle–that’s what your juvenile, petulant behavior will get us. Grow up and open your eyes. As your heroine, Hillary, said, it’s not about her–it’s about the principles, the ideals for which she fought. And you are will to throw it all in the trash can because you lost a political battle. This is beneath contempt.

I like that she said that Bill Clinton has so many layers between his heart and his head and that he’s going to try to touch so many buttons – all of that right before a very Howard Dean-like, “Let’s go!”

“Yeah, keep it up, Janelle—that’s what your juvenile, petulant behavior will get us. Grow up and open your eyes. “

That’s strange, I haven’t heard a single person advocating any of those things you listed. And equating Roe v Wade to racial segregation and women’s suffrage is just stupid.

Keep up the fearmongering. It seems to be a great campaign tactic. It worked so well for John Kerry and Al Gore.

  5. bleacherbum says:

The Hillary Democrats are to the 2008 presidential election what the Ralph Nader Democrats were to 2000 presidential election. Remember how that one turned out?

  6. Bob says:

Dallasite: You have not heard anyone advocating any of those things? Where have you been the last 8 years? Bush has tried, and McCain says he agrees, to overturn Roe v. Wade by appointing judges like Roberts and Alito, as well as a swarm of lower court Neanderthal judges. Bush and McCain oppose affirmative action. Bush and McCain support the Guantanamo kangaroo court trials that the Supreme Court keeps knocking down. Bush and McCain think its OK for the federal goverment to seize your property without a warrant (in violation of the Constitution). Bush and McCain think its OK for the federal government to arrest U.S. citizens and send them to a foreign country for “rendition” (in violation of the Constitution). I don’t have the time or the patience to list all the ways that this administration (which John McCain has voted with 95% of the time this year, and not much less in previous years) wants to turn back the clock. It’s all there on the public record.
