Time Warner Cable Explains Service Glitches

|

Yesterday, a TV-watching FBvian complained about her Time Warner service, and it generated way more e-mail than I cared to read. Then, last night, Gary Underwood, a loyal FBvian and the director of communications for Time Warner in North Texas, dropped me a note. He apologized for not writing in sooner (he was in meetings most of the day). Here’s his explanation for the outages some customers have been experiencing:

We are currently working in parts of Dallas converting the old dual cable (or A/B cable) to a modern single-cable delivery system. Once complete, customers will have access to more analog & digital channels (all totaled more than 40 new cable and VOD channels will be available after the A/B conversion) plus, access to advanced services like Digital Phone and dual-tuner DVRs. We have been working on this project since August of last year — so far we’ve upgraded Plano, Richardson and Mesquite. We’re more than halfway complete in Dallas and expect to be finished by the end of the year. Here’s the link to the enhanced Dallas upgraded lineup.

And because he’s a standup guy, Gary says you can e-mail him if you’ve got questions.
