Contest! Free Stuff! Exclamation Points!

|

As you no doubt already know, I ran for mayor of Dallas not too long ago. Say what you will about my tragicomic campaign (and I’ve heard pretty much every joke), we did produce one truly great thing: a double-disc benefit compilation. More than 30 songs, most of them rare or unreleased, by a bunch of very talented people.

But here’s the thing: Since the campaign ended earlier than hoped, I have a couple of boxes of those CDs cluttering up my room. I can’t legally sell them, and I don’t really have a reason to keep so many of them as souvenirs. Plus, it’s a worthwhile batch of songs that people should hear.

So I’m giving them away. I haven’t come up with the framework of the contest yet. I was hoping FB Nation could help me out. If all else fails, I still have Adam’s idea: We give away one a week to the person who delivers the most valid petition signatures. If you have something better, let me hear it.

UPDATE: An awesome-name-having FBvian suggested I give one (or some) away to whomever comes up with the best contest idea. Done. So get on it, people.
