Post-Vacation Stress Disorder

|

Dumela, boys, girls, and Timmy. I’m physically back from an 18-day immersion trip into the primal African bush. Highlights of my journey include: hunting alongside two female lions, watching a leopard chomp on a former impala, climbing (almost) the top of Big Daddy, nearly drowning while meditating on the beach at the Skeleton Coast, watching nine wild (painted) dog pups play and hunt for springbok with the six adults in their pack, observing two spotted hyena (angrily) play tug of war with a buffalo head, getting charged by a (very large) elephant, and bumping into a hippo on the way back to my tent. Oh, and I lost count at 275 species of birds. So nice to be back to a country where people understand sarcasm. I almost got used to being with humans who treat strangers with dignity and grace and smile with hope. After a 37-hour trek back, I went straight to MiCocina in HP Village for nachos. I am, in a word, speechless.
